Imagine walking into a room and meeting the *you* of ten years from now.
What will your lifestyle be like. Will you have achieved the level of prosperity and comfort you desire. You really only have three choices here about how the *you of the future* will look:
Somewhere between how you are right now, and a less successful version of your current self.
An exact clone of how you are now, with absolutely no changes.
A happier, wealthier and healthier version of the *you of today.*
Obviously no one wants to visualize option one ... while option two assumes that you will not get any richer, happier, wiser, or healthier over the next 10 years.
That leaves option three. And if you selected this, it NOW only remains for you to create this vision as reality. Here is a little exercise to help you achieve this goal:
Ask yourself the following questions:
What do I need to achieve in the next 12 months in order to make my future dream a reality,
What do I need to do in the next month to start myself on this journey,
What can I do by next week to prepare myself for the journey,
What action can I take right now, today, in order to start this process.
Successful vs. Unsuccessful People
So ... you do need to dream, but dreams are NOT enough. Dreams come a size too large so that you can grow into them. A good dream is too large to realize all at once. All large projects must be broken down into bite-sized chunks, otherwise we become discouraged by the scale of our goals.
Successful people are undaunted by large projects, because they have the knack of breaking them down into simple steps. Each such step is selected to be easily completed in from a few hours to a few weeks.
This is in contrast to people who are stuck both monetarily and in spirit. Based on my experience of two decades those who are NOT successful tend to be:
1. Security-driven. They see the world as a threatening place and crave security over change.
2. Incapable of visualization. If asked to visualize their future self, they would stare at you blankly. They are not pretending. They may not even understand what you mean.
3. Not capable of creating an achievable plan. Assuming they DO have a dream (for example wanting to be a millionaire some day), they do not seem capable of creating an action plan to actually achieve their dream.
4. Undisciplined. Those who are not successful seem to also lack the discipline required to refine their goal, let alone achieve it.
BUT ... if you recognize yourself here, don't worry. YOU can get out of this *stuck* pattern.
Here is exactly HOW to model yourself on people who have achieved great things in their lives.
Here is How Winners Operate:
1. They are brave. Like all human beings, winners DO feel fear but they have mastered it and are able to rise above it. They view the world as full of great opportunities and wonderful people. This is a vital principle.
2. They are good visualizers. They have the ability to imagine the future, have high self-esteem, and know that they are worth more than they have at present. Life to them is an exciting adventure to be lived to the full.
3. They are rational and logical. If they have a dream of the future, they know today's dreams are tomorrow's realities. They work backwards from their future dream to the present day ... determining the logical steps required to make their dream come true.
4. They take disciplined action. Having written down the steps required to achieve their goals, they know what is required next -- ACTION. They know that any worthwhile dream involve some concentrated effort to attain. They have the discipline to keep them going right through any setbacks, I train future millionaires.
