Here is what happens when you are facing a challenge creating more prosperiity in your life:

(1) You can REACT by getting anxious, sinking into depression, and just giving up. This response would obviously create a negative reality in your life.

(2) You can REACT by getting really angry, and venting your anger at everyone around you.

(3) You can instead RESPOND and use your focus and energy taking action to create a positive answer to creating more prosperity.

Reacting vs Responding
There’s a huge difference between reacting and responding.

Reacting is a knee jerk reaction controlled by the oldest, non-logical portion of our brain (the brain stem) — which is then further fed by the emotion you stir up with your knee-jerk reaction.

Responding, on the other hand, is focused in the higher thinking centers of your brain, which then sends signals down to the emotional centers to take control of any stress or fear.

Life does not just happen to us. It is our REACTION OR RESPONSE to what occurs that creates our personal reality. Think about this for a moment. You really ARE in charge of creating your own life by choosing whether you react, or respond, to your challenges.

Why Choose to Respond
For the most part we eat, sleep, work, play, laugh, worry, hope, plan, love, hate, cook, drive, work out — all with little consideration of what we are thinking — or whether we are reacting or responding.

This is not necessarily a bad thing. If we gave conscious attention to every single thought or action, we would overload our brain with unimportant decisions.

STILL, your thoughts, reactions and responses got you where you are today. And they will continue to create all of your tomorrows…and your level of prosperity.

Get Prosperous
Your life is a mirror reflection of exactly how you think. And financial security and prosperity do NOT just happen. You create it by responding, OR you just continue to accept the crumbs that life happens to throw your way.

If you want to get prosperous, the place to start is by building a solid prosperity focused RESPONSE to your current life situation.

Start with a review of your current thoughts. If you want prosperity, but constantly think about your lack of money, you are focused on the wrong end of the prosperity stick.

Failure to pay attention will just leave your lower brain in control and encourage fear- and anxiety-based negative knee-jerk reactions.

To get prosperous, begin TODAY to RESPOND positively to your situation — and TAKE ACTION to create a positive answer to your challenges.

University of Wisconsin-Madison neurologists have found a direct link between the body’s immune response and a positive attitude.

A group of 52 people volunteered to be vaccinated against the flu. But before administering the vaccinations, neuroscientist Richard Davidson and his colleagues scanned the brain activity of the subjects as they recalled a vividly happy memory, and again as they thought of another memory that made them feel sad or angry.

Your brain’s prefrontal cortex regulates your emotional responses. The right side of the prefrontal cortex (under your right temple) registers negative emotions, and the left regulates positive emotions.

The researchers tracked the volunteers’ antibody counts over the next six months. They found that six months after being vaccinated, the happier subjects (those with more activity in the left prefrontal lobe) had more antibodies in their system. The less positive volunteers (those with more activity in their right lobe) had weaker immune responses.

The conclusion was that having a happy, positive attitude actually strengthens your immune system. So if you want to strengthen your immune system, focus your mind on the positive things in your life. And smile!

Come on into the Quantum Mind Power Gym only ten minutes a day and build your Positive Emotion Left Prefrontal Cortex. => Come try it and see the difference

Want to overcome the fear so many people are feeling today? Most of us have some personal fears, but there are also many fears communicated to us through our environment. A good example is the widespread fear about the Swine Flu pandemic and the worldwide financial crisis.

Not only do we see and hear constant references to these frightening scenarios in the media…the energy of collective fears also seeps into the very fabric of our reality (the quantum field), and continues to resonate around us.

Since we are all connected to the collective consciousness, we simply absorb this fear energy, even if we don’t pay attention to the media hype and mass hysteria.

Have you ever felt nervous, edgy, tense, or vulnerable for no apparent reason even when everything in your own life was going fine? You may have been affected by such collective fear energy.

How to Overcome Fear
It’s not easy to avoid absorbing these fearful messages, but there are a few things you can do to overcome the impact these fears have on your life.

An obvious first step is to limit your exposure to news broadcasts – especially when they always seem to pertain to frightening events that are beyond your control such as the Swine Flu pandemic.

Deliberately focusing more on positive things will help override the negative input you receive each day too. When you take greater control of your focus and place it decisively upon the creation of a positive reality, you contribute that same energy to the quantum field. This helps minimize some of the fearful energy being contributed by others around the world.

Spend time each day thinking about the people you love, happy memories, and the great experiences that may be waiting just around the corner for you. It may not make the scary possibilities go away completely but it will lighten your mood, leave you feeling happier and less fearful.

Participation in several social groups was once thought to just complicated our lives and cause stress. But new research proves that being part of social networks actually enhances our mental and physical resilience, enabling us to=> better handle challenging life changes.

And it even seems that memberships in social groups also increases our physical well-being. There is even evidence that membership in multiple social groups and networks are a predictor of well-being equal to that of diet and exercise.

A study of 655 stroke patients by Bernadette Boden-Albala, professor of sociomedical sciences and neurology at Columbia University, found that patients who were socially isolated are twice as likely to have another stroke within five years, compared to those with meaningful social relationships. Being cut off from others seems to increase the risk of another stroke even more than being physically inactive, which increases the likelihood of a second stroke by about 30 percent.

Such effects are not restricted to those who have a significant health problem. In a 2008 study epidemiologists and health researchers Karen Ertel, Maria Glymour and Lisa Berkman of the Harvard School of Public Health tracked 16,638 elderly Americans over a period of six years. The findings, published in the American Journal of Public Health, revealed significantly less memory loss in those who were more socially integrated and active.

An earlier study by psychologist Sheldon Cohen of Carnegie Mellon University demonstrated that a diverse social network even makes people less susceptible to the common cold. Their work, published in Psychological Science, reported that the least sociable people in their sample were twice as likely to get colds as those who were the most sociable, even though the more sociable people were likely exposed to more germs.

Such discoveries take us beyond the old debate about body-mind dualism, which explores the nature of the link between physical and mental health. There is now compelling evidence that the health risk of social isolation is equal to the risks of smoking, high blood pressure and obesity.

Hermits beward. To handle both mental and physical serious life changes such as illness, financial loss, or even loss of a mate, it seems one of the best answers is to build a broad social support network.

Imagine rewinding the clock 20 years. How do you feel? Well if you’re at all like the subjects in a Harvard University research project, you look and feel two decades younger, as though you managed to stop aging and go backward.

Several years back Harvard psychologist Ellen Langer studies a group of elderly men, retrofitting an isolated old New England hotel so that every visible sign said it was 20 years earlier. The men — in their late 70s and early 80s — were told not to reminisce about the past, and actually act as if they had traveled back in time. Her desire was to see if changing the men’s mindset about their age might lead to measurable changes in health and fitness.

Langer’s findings were remarkable: After just one week, the experimental group had increased joint flexibility and dexterity, and less arthritis in their hands. Their mental acuity had also improved, as did their gait and posture. When shown the men’s photographs, outsiders judged them to look younger than their actual age. It seemed the they had managed to stop aging, and to some degree actually look and feel younger.

Langer has since been running similar “stop aging” experiments for years, and the accumulated weight of her evidence is convincing. Her theory, argued in her new book, Counterclockwise, is that we are all victims of our own stereotypes about aging and health.

She says we all just mindlessly accept negative cultural cues about disease and old age, and these cues shape our self-concepts and our behavior. If we can shake loose from the negative clichés that dominate our thinking about health, Langer tells us, we can look and feel far younger than our actual years, and to some degree stop aging.

Editor’s Note: Your levels of the Human Growth Hormone (HGH) are key to supporting healthy longevity. HGH is a natural restorative hormone that is released when your brain is relaxed enough to create very slow, deep Delta brainwave frequencies. And you also know about your sixth sense – intuition. But… scientists now tell us we have a 7th sense - our immune system. And it actually talks directly to the brain. Here’s how it works, and how to use your emtoions to boost your immunity.

A Very Brief History
Back in the 1970′s a Harvard study provided the first scientific evidence that our immune system is directly affected by moods and emotions. The evidence came in the form of the discovery that our immune cells contain neuropeptides – the brain chemicals connected to our emotions.

Immune system research has since taken off, and is today known as psychoneuroimmunology PNI.

A Surprising Two-Way Highway
Today PNI research has confirmed that every part of our immune system is connected to the brain in some way -either by a direct nerve connection, or through the brain’s chemical language of neuropeptides and hormones.

There is actually a two-way highway between the immune system and brain. The immune system acts as an emotional sensory system. It receives information about our emotions FROM the brain, and also sends its own signals back TO the brain. And these immune system signals then directly alter our behavior, thoughts and moods.

The brain and the immune system are actually part of a single, fully integrated defense mechanism. Dr Candice Pert, a neuroscientist who pioneered early body-mind research, says: I can no longer make a clear distinction between the brain and the body.

Moods and our Immune System
As a result of this two-way highway, what happens in your mind has an immediate effect on your immune system. We all know, for example, that certain stressful experiences increase our risk for disease, and even death.

Jane Goodall, the famed primate researcher, says this same phenomenon occurs in other animals. Goodall saw one chimpanzee become listless after the death of its mother, and then die in less than a month.

Several major studies have determined how our mental states influence our immune system. The results are conclusive: Negative mental states, chronic stress, and low self-esteem dramatically reduce our immunity.

Proven immune reducers include: Chronic stress, bereavement, pessimism, low self-esteem, depression, divorce, poor marital or intimate relations, loneliness, and financial loss.

Want to increase your immunity? And there is likewise proof that positive mental states and activities can increase your immunity. Proven immune boosters include: Aerobics, humor and laughter, a sense of hope, relaxation, physical exertion, social support, and satisfying relationships.

The Surprising Issue of Self Confidence
Do you often find your moods and emotions less positive than your would prefer? Most of us would rather feel up than down. But emotional ups and downs are a normal part of life.

But the chronic emotional lows that go hand-in-hand with low self-confidence are different. Low self confidence is NOT just a psychological issue. It sets you up for chronic stress. And chronic stress damages the ability of your immune system to resist disease, infections, and even heart disease. How can you win over chronic low-level stress, and the resulting weakened immune system? Obviously, one important move would be to take steps to=> Boost Your Self-Confidence.

There is NEW SOLID scientific evidence that subliminal messages absolutely DO register in our brains, and go straight into our powerful subconscious mind.
Typical symptoms of dangerous stress levels include headaches, poor mental focus, slipping memory, confusion, feeling spaced out, disturbed sleep patterns, feeling tired or run down, weight loss or gain… the list goes on and on.

But there’s hope – and even some remarkable evidence that just caring for a houseplant can help reduce your stress symptoms. Read on.

Most people are NOT aware of the degree to which they are suffering from stress. Our society admires those who show grace under pressure, and we all want to believe we can handle whatever life throws at us. But the stakes are high. People who can’t reduce chronic stress live shorter lives, suffer more illness and disability, have less satisfying relationships, and often are plagued by anxiety and/or depression.

We all know that stress contributes to weight gain, diabetes and many other ailments – but few realize just how harmful stress is for the physical brain itself. And fewer still know how to recognize their own stress symptoms.

Although chronic stress has long been known to trigger the release of excessive amounts of stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline, new studies show that both hormones actually KILL brain cells, and interfere with the production of new ones.

Is stress really an issue? Consider this: Research shows that chronic stress seriously disrupts our immune, endocrine and digestive systems. This has important implications for our physical health And killing our gray matter (the brain’s information processing center) from long periods of even minor stress is also not a pretty picture..

The Best Proven Stress Reducers
Changing our thought patterns can help us better control stress. This can allow us to prevent and even reverse some of the adverse changes such as loss of brain cells in our hippocampus — where our memory resides.

Research shows that people who spend just 20 minutes a day focusing on their breath, or on calming thoughts, experience lower blood pressure, less anxiety and reduced chronic pain from stress.

Moderate exercise is also an excellent stress fighter. Other good stress reducers are feeling we have a purpose in life, or having a pet to care for. There is also quite a bit of evidence that engineered brainwave training, which has actually been around for almost 40 years is a very effective stress fighter, and has lasting stress management effects.

How a Plant Can Help
But here’s a research study that may really surprise you: In one study the residents of a nursing home were split into two groups. Half of the residents were told that they were responsible for taking care of a house plant.

After one year, the people who were caring for a house plant were healthier and had fewer illnesses. They also lived longer than the group who did not have a plant to care for. So yes, DO go buy a plant – or give one to your Mom, Dad, Grandma, or even your boss

Scientific studies now show that deep relaxation actually changes our bodies on a genetic level.

Researchers at Harvard Medical School discovered that long-term practitioners of relaxation methods such as yoga and meditation have far more “disease-fighting” active genes compared to those who do not practice relaxation.

This includes genes that protect from: pain, infertility, high blood pressure and even rheumatoid arthritis. The changes were induced by what they call “the relaxation effect” — a phenomenon just as powerful as medical drugs, but without the side-effects.

The experiment, which showed just how responsive genes are to behaviour, mood and environment, revealed that genes can switch on, just as easily as they switch off.

“Harvard researchers asked the control group to start practising relaxation methods every day,” explains Jake Toby, hypnotherapist at London’s BodyMind Medicine Centre, who teaches clients how to induce the relaxation effect. “After two months, their bodies began to change – the genes that help fight inflammation, kill diseased cells and protect the body from cancer, all began to switch on.”

More encouraging still, the benefits of the relaxation effect were found to increase with regular practice – the more people practised relaxation methods, the greater their chances of remaining free of arthritis and joint pain with stronger immunity, healthier hormone levels and lower blood pressure.

The research is pivotal because it shows how a person’s state of mind affects the body on a physical and genetic level. But just how can relaxation have such wide-ranging and powerful effects? Research around the world has described the negative effects of stress on the body. Linked to the release of the stress-hormones adrenalin and cortisol, stress raises the heart rate and blood pressure, weakens immunity and lowers fertility.

“What you’re looking for is a state of deep relaxation where tension is released from the body on a physical level and your mind completely switches off,” he says. You can only really achieve it by learning a specific technique such as self-hypnosis, meditation, or neural brainwave training.”

When you’re in love your eyes light up, your face lights up and so do four tiny portions of your brain.

Neurobiologists Andreas Bartels and Semir Zeki of University College in London used MRI brain scans to peer into the brains of college students in the throes of that crazed, can’t-think-of-anything-else stage of early romantic love.

When the subjects were shown photographs of their sweet hearts, the MRI images showed that four parts of their brains lit up.

The researchers compared the MRI images to brain scans taken from people in different emotional states, including se.xual arousal, feelings of happiness and coc.aine-induced euphoria.

But the pattern for romantic love was unique. Interestingly, looking at a picture of their loved one also reduced activity in three portions of the brain active when one is upset or depressed.

Is Love Addictive?
When you fall in love your skin flushes, you breathe heavy, and your palms tend to sweat.

Why? Because your brain is experiencing a biochemical rush of dopamine, norepinephrine and phenylethylamine close chemical cousins to amphetamines.

But it’s easy to build up a tolerance to these stimulating bio-chemicals. Then, as with any other tolerance, it takes more of the substance to get that special feeling of infatuation.

Some neuroscientists theorize that folks who jump from one relationship to another are hooked on the intoxication of falling in love.

But interestingly, in the case of enduring romance, simply the presence of one’s partner stimulates the production of endorphins. Endorphins are the feel good biochemicals also behind the experience of runner’s high, and are natural pain-killers.

The Biology of Romance
Recent research suggests that romantic attraction is actually a primitive, biologically based drive just like hunger or thirst.

The biology of romance helps account for why we might travel cross-country for a single ki.ss, and plunge into hopeless despair if our beloved turns from us. It’s the drive for romance that enables us to focus on one particular person, although we often can’t explain why.

What we’re seeing here is the biological drive to choose a mate, to focus on one person to the exclusion of all others, claims Helen Fisher, an anthropologist at Rutgers University.

Research has proven that romantic attraction activates portions of the brain with high concentrations of receptors for dopamine, Fisher explains. And dopamine is the chemical messenger also tied to states of euphoria, craving and addiction.

Other scientific studies have linked high levels of dopamine and a related agent, norepinephrine to heightened attention and short-term memory, hyperactivity, sleeplessness and goal-oriented behavior.

Sound like love?

When they first fall in love, Fisher explains, couples often show the signs of surging dopamine: Increased energy, less need for sleep or food, and highly focused attention.

The Psychology of Love
Poets and song writers have long claimed that the power of the biochemical state we call romantic love is enough to blind one’s judgment.

We all know how new lovers tend to idealize their partner magnifying their virtues, and explaining away their flaws.

But though love may be blind, take hope.

Pamela Regan, a Cal State LA researcher, believes such idealization may be crucial to a long-term relationship. If you don’t sweep away the person’s flaws to some extent, you’re just as likely to end a relationship, she claims.

This at least gives you a chance, Regan feels. If you think of romantic attraction as a kind of drug that alters how you think, then in this case it’s allowing you to take some risks you wouldn’t otherwise take.

Not a bad thing.

But if passionate romance is like a drug, as the MRI images suggest, then it’s bound to lose its kick. But perhaps viewing romance as a biologically based, drug-like state can at least provide some balm for a broken heart.

Healthy Romanticizing
In a 1996 experiment, psychologists at the State University of New York at Buffalo followed a group of 121 dating couples. Every few months the couples answered questionnaires to find out how much they idealized their partner, and how well their relationship was doing.

The researchers discovered that the couples who idealized each other the most were closest one year later.

The Issue of Self-Love
How does the love of one’s self also known as a positive self concept or good self-esteem fit into this picture?

Recent research indicates that depressed people who feel ‘unloved’ are 50% more likely to get cancer.

Negativity, fear, anger and depression are not just in your head. They are biochemical states. Remember neuroscience has proven beyond a doubt that we can consciously create the biochemical states known as joy, happiness, motivation, and even ecstasy.

A lot of people feel tired, and blame it on not getting enough sleep or on other external factors. Basically, the fact that they’re tired is always out of control. What they don’t know is that there’s a reason for feeling tired, and that there’s a simple method to change tired to energized in a heartbeat….

Most of us feel tired during one of the following four situations:
1) After waking up in the morning.
2) After intense physical activity or long hours of work.
3) After sitting in one place for a long period of time.
4) During the evening, or in the late evening hours.

What do all these four situations have in common? There’s one very common process that happens in our bodies in all four cases. During all of these we all experience very similar symptoms of tiredness. These include yawning, rubbing our eyes, feeling sllooowww, and having the urge to just get into bed and sleep.

Why Do We Get These symptoms?

Our bodies have a natural temperature rhythm. Our body temperature rises when we are awake, and promotes feelings of alertness. Our body temperature also falls when we’re sleeping, and promotes feelings of drowsiness and a desire to sleep.

The natural DROP of body temperature in our bodies is a CUE for our body to produce feelings of tiredness, drowsiness, and the strong urge to sleep. I call this the natural sleep response.

When we’re exercising or putting excessive physical demand on our body, our body temperature RISES rapidly.

However, when you END the physical activity, there is a RAPID body temperature DROP until your body temperature regulates sometime after. It’s during this DROP that most of us think there’s no other way out but to sleep, and we usually jump into bed and do just that.

The feeling of the body temperature drop after long hours of work is usually mistaken by us as a deep need for sleep. In reality, we don’t need to sleep, we just need to cool down. Allow me to give you a personal example:

As a kid I used to work at a FULL SERVE gas station for 8-9 hours in a row. This meant I had to be on my feet running around pumping gas for 8-9 hours with one 10 minute break. It was hell. Even when I had the early morning shift I would come home and feel TOTALLY DRAINED and TIRED, I usually fell asleep and slept till the evening.

However, as I began learning the inner science of our sleep system and the inner sleep clock, I tried a little experiment one day. Instead of going to sleep I came home and played fetch with my dog out in the yard for about 45 minutes instead. To my surprise, after just a few minutes of a little light activity throwing a plastic chewed up Frisbee across the backyard, the feeling of tiredness faded and I was able to stay awake and alert WAY into the early morning hours.

How did this work?

I simply allowed my body temperature some time to return back to the normal pattern. I gave it time to come down. When it returned back to normal, I didn’t feel tired and the intense pressure to sleep faded.

This same body temperature drop happens after you sit in one place for a long time. Listen, you could take a person who is robust, athletic, and naturally energetic, but if you put them in front of a TV for 3 hours, THEY WILL GET TIRED! This is simply because our body temperature drops when we’re NOT MOVING.

That’s why the biggest antidote to feeling tired is exercise and movement, NOT SLEEP.

During the morning our body temperature is low too, which creates feelings of drowsiness and tiredness, however, most of us chose to mask this feeling by consuming large amounts of caffeine. The other main temperature drops happen in the afternoon, and in the mid-evening.

In the Powerful Sleep system I describe the EXACT methods to gain a full understanding of your body temperature rhythm, so you can create a quick RISE of body temperature in the morning, and delay the body temperature drop in the evening. This allows you to stay awake and ALERT longer, have more energy and MORE TIME time is a precious commodity.
