10 Steps to Achieve Any Goal

OK. Now let's take some action steps to move you forward in achieving your dreams, and unleashing more of your true personal potential. You will notice several live links as your read down through this lesson. These are tools I have either created, or that believe in because of their proven effectiveness. I encourage you to check them out.
Have you ever had the experience of not quite reaching a goal? Most people have had many such experiences. Here are 10 proven-effective steps that will help you actually reach your goals:
Step 1. Be very precise about what you want
Spend the planning time up front to clarify exactly what you want. You must be able to measure your progress toward your goal, so you need to put numbers and dates to it. You'll never be able to achieve a goal unless you're clear about exactly what you're after!
Step 2. Be sure your goal is right for you
If you try to work toward a goal that conflicts with your value system, your subconscious mind will never allow you to achieve it. Period. You will experience constant internal conflict that will undermine each and every attempt. Be sure you truly believe in what you're going for!
Step 3. Remind yourself of what you want
Develop your own method -– whether putting a message on your screen-saver, using a subliminal software program, repeating a mental message as an affirmation, or even taping messages around your home or office. Make sure you repeat your messages several times a day. You need to embed this in your subconscious mind, and the way to do this is repetition! The importance of this cannot be overemphasized!
Step 4. Define your reasons
You're more likely to achieve a goal that truly excites you. When it is important enough, you will make it happen. Make a list of the benefits you'll get when you achieve your goal. Look for the most important benefit achieving your goal will bring you. Identify your TRUE passion, and build your goals around it!
Step 5. Write it down
There's great power in writing your goals down. And even more power in reviewing what you have written on a regular basis.
Step 6. Set intermediate targets
It is easier to achieve a major goal if you break it down into a series of smaller goals. This also lets you keep yourself on target by scheduling and taking action on the smaller tasks that take you toward your big goal. Step 7. Create a support system
High achievers seldom attack significant goals by themselves. Create your own support system. It is best to have at least one person who will stand by you and support your efforts. You might consider getting a personal coach, or enlisting the aid of a positive-minded friend or associate.
Step 8. Celebrate each victory along the way
Give yourself a good pat on the back for each successful step you take along the way. You have every right to celebrate, and this will also feed your enthusiasm and inform your subconscious mind that you are achieving your goals! Remind yourself that even a small success fuels more success!
Step 9. Trigger your passion
If you selected a goal that fires your imagination and fills your heart with passion -– you will have a lot more fun along the way.
Step 10. Watch for negative messages
Ultimately, your ability to achieve your goals Is a factor of your own self-concept. If you are failing again and again to achieve goals that are in alignment with what you want in your life –- that is definitely you will want to resolve once and for all. And until that problem is eliminated, you will just continue to fall short of having what you want from life.
Often what is happening is that old messages and limitations are at work deep in your subconscious mind. And unfortunately, your subconscious mind will win out every time over your conscious mind.
