Got Dangerous Stress Levels?

stressStress…stress…stress.

Stress is an intimate part of our lives today — there’s no getting around it.

Stress in and of itself is not bad. Stress is to the human condition what tension is to the violin string: too little and the music is dull and raspy; too much and the music is shrill or the string snaps. Excess stress is blamed for many serious physical illnesses ranging from heart disease, early aging, and even Alzheimer’s disease.

Myth: No symptoms = no stress.

An absence of symptoms does not mean the absence of stress. In fact, camouflaging symptoms with medications could deprive you of the signals you need to reducing the strain on your body and mind.

Many of us experience symptoms of stress in a very physical way, even though stress is a psychological effect. Feeling anxious, shortness of breath, or simply feeling run down all the time can all be physical signs of stress. Feeling overwhelmed, disorganized and having difficulty concentrating are common mental signs of stress.

Myth: Only major symptoms of stress require attention.

This myth assumes that the minor symptoms of stress, like headaches or stomach acid, may be safely ignored. But these minor symptoms of stress are actually early warning signs that your life is getting out of hand, and that you need to do a better job of managing stress.

Myth: Stress is just all in your head.

Stress is NOT just imagination – it is what happens to you, it is a psychophysical reaction that occurs in your brain. The resulting chemical and hormonal changes then affect every single organ of your body.
– Forty-three percent of all adults suffer adverse health effects from stress.
– 75 to 90 percent of all physician office visits are for stress-related ailments and complaints.
– Stress is linked to the six leading causes of death–heart disease, cancer, lung ailments, accidents, cirrhosis of the liver, and suicide.

A STRESS TEST

Are you moving toward dangerous levels of stress? Here’s a short self-test to help you answer that question:

Just answer each of the following questions with a True or False

1. I often have migraine, tension or painful headaches.

2. I have not taken any time off in a long time.

3. I am often concerned about financial issues.

4. I have too little time with my friends and things I enjoy.

5. I often have a hard time going to sleep, and cannot shut off my mind.

6. I often feel distracted and forget what I was doing.

7. I seem to be losing or gaining weight.

8. I have chronic, ongoing pain.

9. I feel like my life has no purpose.

10. I never seem to reach my goals or achieve my dreams.

11. I often skip meals because I am too busy.

12. I don’t have any family or friends to turn to.

13. I don’t exercise or walk regularly.

14. I take medication for depression or anxiety.

15. My intimate life is not satisfying, or I have performance issues.

Count the number of True’s, and assign one point for each.

Here’s how to assess your stress level:

(a)  Less than 5 points: Well managed low stress level.

(b)  5 – 6 points: Moderate stress.

(c)  7-9 points: High stress levels.

(d)  10 – 15 points: An exceptionally high level of stress.

Here’s a way to instantly  manage any level of stress=> Instant Stress Reduction

Ensure Healthy Longevity

There’s more to healthy longevity than physical exercise and a healthy diet. The deeper issues are maintaining mental agility, and human growth hormone (HgH) production. HgH is naturally produced by our brain, but production tapers off as we pass age 30. Decreased HgH leads to skin aging, weakened bones, lessened sexual performance, and a less reliable immune system. Reach Your Dreams

dream houseGot a Dream?

Achieving certain dreams often requires FAR LESS WORK than achieving other, seemingly easier goals. Why is that so?

Because it is much, much harder to work for to achieve a dream we don’t passionately desire. But when you manage to get yourself focused on what is naturally a passionate interest. your work becomes play.

Is Your Dream a Good Fit?

Hopefully you have invested some thought clarifying your dream … and you know exactly what you want. If that is the case. why not take a few minutes to ask yourself an important question — am I pursuing the right dream and goal for ME?

Here is why that is so important: You will never really achieve your true potential as long as you pour your energy into something that does not really fit your true passions and interests! Does that seem too simple?

Think about it. It is often very easy to automatically adopt someone elses goal. We were trained to do that very thing as children.

Ninty-nine percent of us were fully expected to achieve the goals our parents and educational system set out for us. Some of us gave in and tried to comply. Some of us rebelled and learned to fail instead. And some of us felt somehow inadequate because we did not have the natural interest and/or aptitude to do what we were expected to do.

If you find you never seem to achieve your goals, you may be setting goals you don’t really desire or believe in for yourself.

This is never going to lead to success. What leads to is one false start after another… and a tendency to want to quit after the first bump in the road. This is a major dead-end, and will do nothing but gradually erode your self confidence.

Pursue an Appropriate Dream

Three things will happen if you make the effort to refocus yourself around a dream and supporting goal that is more in keeping with your natural talents and passions:

  • First, you will be happier, less stressed, and far more productive.
  • Second, you will be more likely to hang in when you hit those jarring bumps in the road.
  • Third, there is a higher probability you will achieve a level of excellence at what you’re doing. This increases your value thereby increasing your potential for increased return on your efforts.

Put your goal to the test. Does it truly “measure up” to your innermost desires? Now … ask yourself this question:  What do you have to do NOW to get what you want? => Click Here.

A 2-Day Change Your Life Strategy

November 2, 2009 by

changeYou hear stories about people who are on the edge of a cliff, but suddenly turn their lives around.

How do they do they suddenly change their life?

We all know we can’t expect success by doing the same things that have led us to the cliff’s edge. This is basic. So we can assume at least one thing – something changed for these people.

If YOU are ready for a positive and empowering change in your life, here’s a simple plan of action that will get you there with the least amount of struggle or pain…

STEP ONE
First, select ONE lifew change goal you sincerely want to accomplish over the next 30 days.

Make it a SINGLE goal, not a collection. Write your goal right now on paper and include exactly what you want. Follow the below format in writing your goal:

If your goal is financial, it might go like this: “By the first day of December 2009 (specify the exact date), I will have in my possession an additional $5,000, (The exact amount) which will come to me between now and then in various amounts. In return for this, I will do whatever is necessary and appropriate in my business (describe your business, or the business you intend to create).”

Second, now spend at least 30 minutes creating a mental picture of having achieved your goal by December 1st. Remember… you are creating a picture you want your brain to clearly recognize and remember. So… close your eyes and make it as emotionally vivid and intense as possible. Use all of your senses (smell, sight, touch, hearing and taste) to create a mental picture.

Third, read aloud your goal and re-create your mental picture twice a day every day between now and December 1st. Commit to do this! Especially good times are the first thing when you wake in the morning, and a few minutes before bedtime.  Give your mind a target, and it will do its best to hit it.

STEP TWO
Next comes the part of success most people skip – translating your goal into IMMEDIATE action.

Most people’s goals are actually nothing more than a wish or desire. Because of this, their goals are seldom achieved. If you REALLY want to achieve a goal you must take ACTION.

First… a 2-Day Challenge. Fold the piece of paper you wrote your goal on to divide it into two sides. On the left side list 5 things you can do to move toward your goal. On the right side write the exact time over the next two days you will take action on this item. Briefly describe exactly what that action will be.

Next, go to work on your first task. Get it done! Do not let procrastination take over.

Then, at the end of your 2-day challenge, spend an hour or two to plan your next 2-day challenge. The satisfaction you will feel from completing the first 2-day challenge will carry you into the second, and do on until you reach your goal.

STEP THREE
Getting what you want is basically one successful 2-day challenge after another. So…why doesn’t everybody do this? For every 100 people who read this article, only 1 or 2 will actually do it.

Why? Although almost everyone wants to succeed, only a few are truly willing to COMMIT to their goals.

  • Are YOU ready to commit to YOUR goal?
  • Are YOU ready to make some CHANGES to do so?
  • Are YOU ready to truly TAKE ACTION?

STEP FOUR
If YOU are one of the few who is ready to go for it, here is one more tip:

Conduct a review of your current thoughts! You need to take charge of the internal messages your subconscious mind is broadcasting.

Failure to pay attention leaves your subconscious mind in control. Then your subconscious mind will simply continue to reinforce the same thoughts that created the reality you want to change

This takes no special abilities, intelligence or talent. No matter what your past or present situation, or how many times you might have failed to reach your goals, you CAN change things by simply paying attention to the thoughts streaming through your mind.

Give this strategy a try, and watch your reality shift! Change your thinking, and you change your life. Want to speed up the process by applying neuroscience insights? Break loose of your old limitations==>>Make a Change NOW!
